Why Smart, Successful Women Still Struggle with Profitability And Why It Has Nothing to Do with Being "Bad at Numbers"
Today I want to share why I do what I do. You see, I often hear the same things from smart, capable women. "I’m just not a numbers person." "I should know this." "I don’t know why I’m not profitable." "I work so hard… why am I not keeping anything?"
On the outside, their businesses looked successful. Money was coming in. But underneath, there was a confusion they couldn’t quite name.
Often they didn’t understand why they weren’t as profitable as they should be or even where the money was going. And they couldn’t explain why, after everything they were doing, they still weren’t paying themselves what they knew they deserved.
Every day, they were working harder to compensate for clarity they didn’t have. Avoiding their numbers. Second-guessing decisions. Quietly assuming this was just how business felt. Secretly wondering if this was all there was and if they should even continue on this path.
I recognized it because, years earlier, I had my own version of that experience.
In 2018, I was running a six-figure accounting business. I was working with companies that were growing to seven and multi-seven figures and yet, I felt capped at six figures myself.
I often thought, after all, I should be happy with six figures, shouldn’t I? But deep inside I wanted to grow bigger, and yet I couldn’t see what was holding me back. There was something silent operating beneath the surface I couldn’t put my finger on.
So then, I took a big leap, and I hired a mindset coach. Once I did, I realized for the first time that my thoughts weren’t fixed. I could actually change them. They weren’t facts. They were beliefs I had been carrying around for far too long.
That realization changed everything. Soon after, I started charging more. I hired a team. My business expanded in ways that had previously felt out of reach.
I went on to formally train in subconscious and neuro-based coaching, so I could understand why those beliefs form and how to change them in others.
And that’s when I saw what most women were really struggling with when it comes to their finances. It wasn’t that they were bad with numbers or that they lacked intelligence or discipline. It was that their subconscious beliefs were shaping how they related to money and no one had ever taught them how to change that relationship.
So, I brought the two worlds together.
The mindset work that creates safety and clarity around money. And the financial work that turns numbers into usable insight. Not to overwhelm. Not to overcomplicate.
But to help them see the truth.
Numbers are neutral. They are just information. Not here to judge or shame anyone.
And when a woman can look at her numbers without fear or judgment, with clarity and understanding, everything shifts. She stops guessing and underpaying herself, and starts making decisions from clarity instead of pressure.
What this taught me is simple.
When you change how you relate to money and numbers, you don’t just grow a business. You become the kind of CEO who can build profitability, wealth, and long-term financial security without fear driving your decisions.
