The Seven-Figure CEO Who Almost Shut It Down

She had been in business for almost twenty years and was approaching the seven-figure mark.

She had a luxury brand, strong referrals, and did beautiful work.

And she was quietly thinking about shutting it all down.

It wasn’t because she wasn’t talented or because clients weren’t buying. It was because she wasn’t profitable.

She wasn’t paying herself consistently, if at all. She was struggling to pay her team and her bills, and frankly she was embarrassed.

She kept saying, "I should know this by now." And that sentence always gets me all the time. Should know this by now… according to who?

Unless you have an accounting degree, why would you know how to read financial statements in your business? No one teaches women this. Why are we so hard on ourselves?

When I looked at her business, what I saw wasn’t a failure at all. I saw a bottleneck.

She had an assistant designer and a virtual assistant for a seven-figure business. She was still doing too much herself. She was the creative, the reviewer, the project manager, the decision maker, everything.

She couldn’t step into sales and continue building her pipeline because she was buried in delivery. This created a feast or famine cash flow.

So, one of the first things we worked on wasn’t pricing. It was capacity.

First, she needed a junior designer with more capabilities. Someone closer to her skill level. Someone who could actually take work off her plate, not just assist her.

The salary wasn’t wildly different from what she was already paying her assistant, but the mindset shift was.

She wasn’t even paying herself that much.

And that’s the moment I knew if she could get past that mental block, everything would open up. This wasn’t about a few thousand dollars. It was about whether she was going to stay the operator or build a company that could grow without her carrying it alone.

She hired the designer.

Next, we looked at her virtual assistant. We decided that a part-time project manager, onsite, would be a much better fit, and she had someone in mind already. And it turned out that the person was available for the same amount she was paying the remote virtual assistant. And that person could be the command center of the office.

And from there, we could actually fix the rest.

We cleaned up the numbers. We reworked pricing in a way that made sense for her industry and her team.

We built her a Profit Plan. That’s always where the magic happens for my clients. A clear one-page plan where she could see how to make a real profit.

Then we worked on helping her understand the financial reports. So she could see where the leaks were and how to be profitable.

The real shift happened when she stopped thinking she should already know everything. And started learning it.

When she stopped trying to protect the business from growth and started building it for expansion.

This is what I wish more seven-figure women understood. You don’t know what you don’t know. And there is no prize for carrying shame about that. There is only growth once you decide to learn.

She’s now booked well beyond where she was before, nearly doubling her revenue. Her pipeline is stronger, and so is her team. And she’s not the bottleneck anymore.

She is the same woman, with a new identity. She finally stepped into the CEO I knew she was capable of being.

Her transformation didn’t start with pricing or a rebrand.

It started with clarity.
