Her Revenue Doubled When She Did The Opposite of What Most People Think.

"When you actually started getting choosy with your clients is actually when your revenue practically doubled."

Her revenue nearly doubled. And the thing that made it happen was not more marketing, more networking, more proposals, or more hours. It was saying no to the wrong clients so she could say yes to the right ones.

By the time Kim and I got to this part of our work together she was a different business owner than the woman who had first sat across from me barely profitable and quietly considering walking away. She had clarity around her numbers. She had a team. She had a pricing model that finally made sense. And she was starting to see what her business was actually capable of when it was run with intention rather than fear.

And this is where we entered the Multiply phase of Manifest. Manage. Multiply. Build wealth that outlasts the business. Because everything we had done up to this point had been laying the foundation. Now it was time to build on it.

And before we go any further I want to address something I hear from business owners all the time. The idea that showing a profit is something to avoid because it means paying more in taxes. I understand the thinking. But let me offer you a simple reframe.

Would you rather someone handed you $100 and asked you to give $30 of it back? Or would you rather have nothing to hand over at all because there was nothing left to give?

Profit is not the enemy. Taxes on profit are simply the cost of building real wealth. And every dollar of profit your business generates is a dollar that is working for you, your family, and the future you are building. That is what the Multiply phase is about. Not avoiding profit. Multiplying it intentionally and turning your business into the wealth building machine it was always meant to be.

And do not get me wrong. There are absolutely ways to pay less in taxes and I am all about that. In fact if you are at multi-six figures and above one of the most powerful tax strategies available to you is filing as an S-Corp rather than a sole owner LLC. That one decision alone can save you thousands of dollars every single year. But that is a conversation for another day and one I love having with my clients. The point is that paying less in taxes and building real profit are not in conflict with each other. They are both part of the same wealth building strategy.

Kim had spent almost twenty years saying yes to almost everyone who crossed her path. Not because she was naive or careless about who she worked with, but because the stories we had uncovered in the Manifest phase had been quietly driving those decisions for years. The belief that she needed to say yes to survive. The fear that saying no meant losing something she could not afford to lose. The assumption that more clients always meant more revenue and more revenue always meant more growth.

"When you actually started getting choosy with your clients is actually when your revenue practically doubled."

But when we looked at her numbers together something became very clear very quickly. The projects that were taking the most time, creating the most stress, and generating the most friction were also the ones contributing the least to her bottom line. She was spreading herself and her small but growing team across too many clients, too many projects, and too many relationships that were never truly in alignment with the business she was building. And it was costing her far more than she realized, not just in revenue but in energy, capacity, and the ability to give her better, larger, more aligned clients the full attention they deserved and that her business needed her to deliver.

When Kim finally had the confidence and clarity around her numbers that she had never had before, something shifted in the way she saw her business and the decisions she needed to make inside it. She did not need me to tell her what to do next. The numbers told her. And for the first time she trusted what they were saying.

She could see clearly which projects were draining her team and delivering the least return. She could see which clients were in true alignment with the business she was building and which ones were simply filling space. And she could see that saying no to the wrong opportunities was not a risk. It was a strategy.

So that is exactly what she did. She stopped saying yes to every client who came her way and got choosy, deliberately and unapologetically, about who she gave her time, her team, and her energy to.

"The very first time I meet a potential client now I have so much clarity on who is in alignment with us."

The results were almost immediate. When Kim stopped spreading herself and her team across every opportunity that came through the door and started focusing exclusively on the larger, fully aligned projects her business was built to deliver, everything shifted. The pipeline did not shrink. It got stronger. The revenue did not go down. It went up.

"If we have larger quality projects then we can really give so much more to that client and be fully engaged."

And the quality of the work, the client relationships, and the experience her team was delivering reached a level that had never been possible when they were stretched too thin across too many projects at once.

Kim said it herself when I interviewed her on my podcast just a few weeks ago. If you have not listened yet I would love for you to. You can find the full episode here: Listen Here. The very first time she meets a potential client now she has complete clarity on whether they are in alignment with her and with her business. And when they are not, she does not hesitate. Because she knows exactly what saying yes to the wrong client costs her, not just in revenue but in the capacity to show up fully for the ones who deserve her best.

From just under one million dollars in revenue, her business grew to $1.7 million the following year. Her profit soared by over 1000 percent. She expanded from one location to two, built a team of five including two full time designers, and this year she is on track for multi-million dollar revenue.

And she did it by doing less, not more. By saying no more than she said yes. By finally trusting that the right clients were coming and that her business did not need every opportunity that walked through the door.

She finally had the recipe. The secret sauce she had been dying to understand for almost twenty years on how to grow a profitable, sustainable business that supported her rather than drained her. The clarity, the confidence, and the strategy that had felt out of reach for two decades.

And all of it happened in just three months of working together.

Selectivity is not a luxury reserved for businesses that have already made it. It is a strategy available to any business owner who has the confidence and clarity to use it. And that confidence and clarity do not come from crossing your fingers and hoping things work out. They come from knowing your numbers, understanding your capacity, and having a clear picture of exactly what your business needs to grow. That is when saying no stops feeling like a risk and starts feeling like the most powerful thing you can do for your business.

And here is what I want every woman reading this to understand. You do not have to spend twenty years saying yes to everyone who crosses your path before you give yourself permission to get selective. You do not have to be barely profitable and on the verge of walking away from everything you have built before you decide that your time, your team, and your energy deserve to be protected. That decision is available to you right now. And it starts with getting clear on your numbers, your capacity, and the kind of business you actually want to build.

If you are saying yes to every client who comes your way not because they are the right fit but because a money story running quietly in the background is making you afraid to say no, that is worth paying attention to. And that is exactly the conversation I want to have with you.

A complimentary 20 minute Financial Clarity Session is the place to start.
